Air-conditioning systems study for MWH Barcol-Air AG, Stäfa
Compilation of a scientific study on behalf of MWH Barcol-Air AG, a leading supplier of indoor air-conditioning solutions. The study uses thermal simulations to compare innovative hybrid chilled ceiling solutions with three conventional air-conditioning systems. The goal is to establish a comparison of the lifecycle costs of different air-conditioning systems.
In terms of cooling and ventilation, modern buildings require increasingly complex systems to provide occupants with fresh air at a comfortable temperature, without creating draughts. In some cases, a new hybrid product that combines the features of different systems proves to be superior. This product was compared with three conventional system types and subject to a computer-based investigation. A balanced team of experts comprising academics from Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (Hochschule Luzern) and engineers from Switzerland and Germany evaluated and compared the different systems.
