Blauen TRG 3 Tunnel, Blauen

The Blauen Tunnel formed part of the expansion of the Transitgas AG natural gas pipeline. Our role was that of general contractor. The work comprised project planning and management and execution through to a finished, operational site without installation of the pipeline.

Excavation and support works, approach cuttings and portals, heading with open tunnel boring machine, rock support with shotcrete, anchors and steel reinforcement, sealing, floor and vault concrete, inner construction and technical control centre.
Materials supply and disposal on a rail track. Support using steel fibre reinforced shotcrete and full-face steel installation directly behind the boring head.
Partial sealing with PVC lining.
In-situ cast concrete skin, reinforced in sections. Concrete transported up to 950 m from the portals using high-pressure concrete pumps.
