Feasibility study of LEED standard certification of the ice hockey stadium for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi (Russia).

The Bolshoi Ice Palace holds 12,000 spectators, and is being built for the 2014 Winter Olympics. The stadium is to be constructed and certified according to the international sustainability standard LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). In this pre-check, factors and influences on the planning and realisation phases were investigated and recommendations made to the client. Alongside the certification process, our work also focused on energy and environmental reporting for the entire construction site logistics process according to GRI (the Global Reporting Initiative).
